Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has called on Irish Finance Minister Michael Noonan to ensure that NAMA officials appear before the Stormont Finance Committee inquiry into allegations made in Leinster House.
The chair of the Finance Committee said;
“The Finance Committee wrote to NAMA to invite them to come to the inquiry set up to examine the claims made in Leinster House last week.
“At today’s meeting of the Public Accounts Committee in Dublin, NAMA chairperson Frank Daly said he would not be accepting the invitation and will not appear before the committee.
“It is unacceptable for NAMA to claim that they do not have questions to answer in the North when it was involved in the sale of property here.
“I will be writing to the Finance Minister Michael Noonan in Dublin to ensure that NAMA, as a state body, will be appearing before the Finance Committee and that he won’t allow them to hide behind partition.”
