Speaking after a public meeting of the Commission on Flags, Identity and Culture at the Adair Arms in Ballymena Councillor Hardy said:
“I was glad to attend this meeting along with my party colleague Philip McGuigan MLA. This was a useful engagement and it is important that people are given the opportunity to express their views on these subjects.
“I understand that issues of identity, flags and cultural expression can be controversial and difficult to resolve in some cases but dialogue and mutual respect can only help. It is vital that any proposals that come forward, particularly with regard to Government buildings and public spaces, have Equality and mutual respect at their core.”
